Outline of the research

Our department manages and preserves herbal drug resources such as traditional medicine and natural medicines. And we promote joint research using herbal drug resources. In particular, to enhance the functions of our institute as a core joint research center on natural medicines, we provide the herbal drug library, and conduct molecular systematic, phytochemical, and pharmacological analysis and evaluation of medicinal resources, and integrate and manage the information. Furthermore, we support the joint research using herbal drug resources for drug discovery.

1. Construction, expansion, and maintenance of medicinal resource library (crude drug extracts/natural compounds)
2. Management of integrated information on medicinal resources and promotion of their use in education and research
3. Research on molecular systematic, phytochemical, pharmacological analysis and evaluation of herbal drug resources
